Senior citizens and orphans in the Yilo Krobo District who are without health insurance are to benefit from a free health insurance premium.
A registration exercise which started last week seeks to register the elderly and orphans in the district who do not have health insurance and as a result are unable to go to the hospital to seek medical attention.
Mr. Michael Ologo, an American trained professional and a country manager of an American-based offshore services company currently operating in Ghana, made the revelation over the weekend at the Christ Apostolic church at Ahinkwa in the Yilo Krobo District in the Eastern Region during a ceremony to unveil the programme.
Mr. Ologo who chaired the occasion said, “we are in a defining moment where we must all come together to support the economically disadvantaged in any small way we can.”
The America-trained youth activist, whom many of the youth in the area regard as an important mentor to their socio-economic transformation said he is determined to creating the platform for the youth in the area to get access to necessary opportunities in order to change their livelihoods.
He noted that since he had access to world class education and an opportunity to compete in the global economy, he would not settle for anything less where the welfare of the youth in the district are concerned.
Mr Michael Ologo further stressed that, “a new era has come for God-fearing, selfless leaders, business minded politicians, and professionals to run the affairs of our dear nation."
In his closing remarks, Mr. Ologo urged the people to help the have-not in society so as to receive divine blessings as the Bible admonishes.
