Two members of the Young Patriots, a group associated with the opposition New Patriotic Party have accused President Mills of closing his eyes to evil deeds going on around him.This they say has been possible because the President himself is corrupt and immoral as he has a child with another woman who is not his wife.The group leveled the allegations when they appeared on Multi TV’s political talk show Minority Caucus.According to John Kumah, one of the members of the Young Patriots, the group has a duty to unmask the President so that Ghanaians get to know who he really is.“It is the duty of the Young Patriots to tell Ghanaians who Professor Mills is, that is what we have not done since 2008 and he has gotten away with it. We are now prepared to tell who Professor Mills is and we accept the challenge from them and henceforth we shall see,” he said.According to the Young Patriots, the ruling NDC has embarked on what they term “politics of insults” through which they have been attacking the character and personality of the NPP’s 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.The group said the NDC has adopted the strategy because “the NDC knows that when it comes to issues they will fail just like they have failed now, so they say 'let’s now destroy the image of Nana Addo and improve on the image of Professor Mills'”.Richard Nyamaa, another member of the group who was on the show added that the NDC is full of persons with questionable character. “You have people who have records as rapists, people who have been sacked as students because they stole student monies, you have people who were consultants to drug barons as part of a government today and they have the effrontery to insult Nana Addo’s personality”.According to John Kumah, the government has deliberately broken the flow metres on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah at the Jubilee fields.They indicated that the President has not been able to deliver on some promises he made to Ghanaians during the 2008 elections citing the STX housing project and the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) as examples.The Young Patriots also criticized the supplementary budget presented to Parliament last Thursday by the Finance Minister, describing it as “foot soldiers budget”.Story by Juliana Yorke/Multi TV/Ghana
