The New Juaben Municipal Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme has resigned his post.He is citing sabotage from a section of the ruling National Democratic Congress and has defected to the opposition NPP.Mr. Maxwell Boakye told Asempa Today some members of the NDC in the municipality have consistently sabotaged his efforts in projecting and promoting the Better Ghana Agenda. He said having helped in various capacities in the NDC, he tried to rid the payroll of the NYEP of all ghost names in order for government to have value for money. But that according to him has received stiff opposition from some bigwigs within the party who were benefiting prior to his coming into office.Though he will not name names at the moment, Mr. Boakye said he will come out at the appropriate time and make public all issues surrounding his resignation and defection to the NPP.He said with the current trend of events, he found himself in a lost kingdom and had only to defect. But Deputy National Coordinator of NYEP in-charge of Operations, Alhaji Alhassan Tapsoba has a different understanding of the issue and expressed surprise at the action of the New Juaben NYEP Coordinator. He told Asempa News, sometime last week, some beneficiaries lodged a complaint that Mr. Maxwell Boakye had inserted some ghost names on the payroll of the NYEP.Alhaji Tapsoba said he requested that a formal written document be made available to his office, a request yet to be acted upon.He however said his outfit will immediately ask the regional coordinator to take over whilst they investigate the matter and await his (Boakye's) official notification.Story by Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong/Asempa fm/Ghana
