Government is promising a GH¢200 reward to individuals who report cases of guinea worm.
The gesture is part of measures to rid the country of guinea worm completely.
Speaking in Tamale at the guinea worm review meeting, Health Minister Joseph Yieleh Chireh told Joy News the cash reward will motivate people who may be harboring the disease to come forward for treatment.
Meanwhile, work is underway on the Tamale water extension project supported by the Millennium Development Authority.
It is one of the water supply interventions expected to prevent further guinea worm infections.
About 50,000 people are expected to benefit.
