The Tamale Central Youth Coalition of the National Democratic Congress NDC has threaten to teach the Acting Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Sofo Azorka, a bitter lesson if he does not stop disrespecting the elderly of the party in the region.
The NDC Youth Coalition said, the actions and inactions of the Acting Regional Chairman were undermining the peace and unity among the rank and file of the party in the region.
“We are sending a very serious warning to him that if he does not put a stop to these wicked, selfish and greedy activities that is hindering the youth of the party, we will show him where power lies. We will make him and any other person who fails to live up to expectation to bear the responsibilities of their own actions if the party structures cannot do that Azorka is nobody to us and should not regard himself as a god father of the youth,” they said
At press conference in Tamale, the Chairman of the Tamale Central Youth Coalition of the NDC, Mr Abdul Razak Alhassan Daballi said, Mr Azorka was scaring people away from the party because of his arrogance and disregard for the elderly including chiefs of Dagbon, adding that, most of the youth are leaving the party because of the Acting Chairman’s character.
He hinted that, members of the youth coalition undertook many dangerous and deadly activities in the name of Azorka Boys during the party’s national delegate’s congress held in Tamale. “They used us for by-elections and other party activities and we deserve adequate compensation and recognition from the party.”
The NDC Coalition Chairman, revealed that, the 1,800 Azorka boys that was reported to have stormed the recent Sunyani Congress of the party was a lie designed to create the impression that the youth in Tamale are behind Mr Azorka, saying that, Mr Azorka deceived the nation and the NDC for cheap popularity for his own selfish gains. “Nevertheless, he has some youth following him but they are not more than 30 people,” he added.
Mr Alhassan Daballi alleged that, Mr Azorka had turned himself into as an auctioneer grabbing vehicles and selling them to some NPP members at exorbitant prices to enrich himself to the neglect his own party members.
The NDC Youth Coalition therefore called on the party’s hierarchy to sanction Mr Sofo Azorka or face their wrath.
