President John Evans Atta Mills has debunked accusations by a National Democratic Congress (NDC) group that he has failed to fulfill his campaign promise to the people in the Volta region.
The group calling itself NDC Youth for Action is accusing the President of doing very little for the region in spite of the massive votes it gave the NDC.
The group led by one Alhaji Bello, refers to the much talked about Eastern corridor road project, University of Health and Allied Sciences as promises that are yet to be fulfilled.
But President Mills says objective minded people will admit the Volta region is receiving a fair share of development projects.
"I am more concerned than they are. If you look at what we’ve got in the pipeline, the Volta region will get even more than their fair share,” the president stated.
He said the government is concentrating on some of the projects that were started before his administration and that at the right time new projects will be inaugurated.
