Kwadwo Asamoah has said he will ‘’soon’’ make a return to the Black Stars after a three-year exile.
Asamoah, who since signing in 2012 has won a plethora of trophies with Juventus including five consecutive Serie A titles but has suffered two Champions League finals defeats, has not represented the West African country at any tournament since the 2014 World Cup.
He has since then either turned down the opportunity or not been called up due to recurring injuries. Twice the 28-year old has undergone surgery on his Knee.
But it was a night of celebrating excellence at the 2017 Calcio Trade Ball, an event which brings together all Ghanaian players based in Italy. The programme put together by football agent Oliver Arthur’s ArthurLegacy Sports and the Italian embassy in Ghana which seeks to deepen the existing cultural exchange and business relationship between the two countries.
Former and current stars who have played in the peninsula were present at the residence of the Italian embassy. It was there Juventus star announced his Black Stars return was imminent.
''Well very soon I will join the team.I left the team due to some injuries and I needed time to get more better because I know Ghana got a lot of talents,'' Asamoah said after picking up his Calcio Trade Ball Inspirational Award.
''Even me not joining the team I know we have replacements. I'm happy I am doing well now to join the team. I didn't want to join the team because I didn't want to join the team half-fit.''
