This week Senior Director of Government Relations at Newmont Ghana, Ama Bawuah has called on the government to find an alternative means of clamping down on the menace of galamsey.
Ama Bawuah said, “Ghana is not just for me, it’s for all of us, and we must all come together to stop galamsey and its effects on our water bodies.”
She said, "unemployment is a driving force for galamsey. There must be efforts to look for a source of livelihood for the mother with a baby on her back, and the father who has to feed his family.”
The Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Alhassan Andani, said looking at the trends of technology in the financial sector, in the next ten to fifteen years, bank buildings may be non-existent. “We are evolving so quickly that everything that used to be done in the banking hall, is in the palm of our customers now.”
He said the collaboration between banks and other everyday institutions is making the switch to digital banking faster than one may have thought 10 years ago.
This week’s episode of the Executive Lounge features 5 of some of the best interviews in season 2 of the Executive Lounge. The executive lounge airs on Saturday at 6pm and a repeat on Sunday on the Joy News Channel on MultiTv and on DSTV channel 421.
