Keta residents who were recently displaced by tidal waves have abandoned the makeshift structures provided by the Municipal Assembly and are back in their ruined homes.
They are complaining bitterly about the sizes of tents provided while those who were putting up in classrooms have been compelled to leave because schools have re-opened.
NADMO officials say it is unsafe to live in their old homes but the victims say they have no alternative.
"Where the tent is, is not safe for people to live in and cannot contain about three or four families. No light no, no nothing.
"Help is coming from nowhere,” one of the victims told Edem Muta Nyasogbor of Keta-based Radio Jubilee.
But the Keta Municipal Assembly says the victims have not been abandoned.
Municipal Chief Executive, Sylvester Tornyeava told Joy News the assembly was arranging for a parcel of land at Veta to resettle the affected.
Scores of residents at Abuesi in the Western Region, Komenda in the Central region and Glefe in Accra who were also displaced by tidal waves are also reportedly struggling to cope with their predicament.
