Asante Kotoko coach Steven Polack has set his sights on winning more trophies with the club after guiding them to President Cup success.
The Porcupine Warriors beat arch rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara stadium on Monday to claim this year’s edition of the President cup.
It was a repeat from last year as Kotoko piped their opponents through the penalty spot after both teams failed to hit the target in the stipulated 90 minutes.
Sadick Adams converted winning kick to make it 4-1 after Hearts’ experts Vincent Atingah and Rubin Gnagne had failed woefully.
“It’s a great feeling, I have to applaud the players because they gave everything for this victory, and also the supporters who even after yesterday’s heavy down pour came in their numbers today to cheer, which is fantastic,” the English gaffer said.
“This is the first trophy of the season and it’s evident that I’m a bit emotional. This is the start of many trophies I hope to win with this club because I’m going to be here for a long time and hope that we can win more.”
Kotoko have seen a revival since the English trainer took charge. They have become league title contenders again and also in contention for the MTN FA cup.
