The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II is criticizing politicians for being greedy.
He says most Ghanaian politicians are inefficient because they crave for material things instead of the general good of the people.
He was speaking in an interview with Joy News.
The Okyenhene believes that the inability of Ghanaians to hold politicians accountable has culminated into them demanding to be served instead of serving the electorate.
“When people go to positions of power they don’t understand service. You are appointed to be a minister, you are a servant of the people. You serve and then hold hope that people will serve you in return,” he explained.
The Okyenhene also criticized what he says is the accumulation of wealth with no regard for consequences on the citizenry.
He also expressed regret over the seeming imposition of DCEs on constituents.
According to him, the DCE in his area on two consecutive occasions was rejected by the people but he has finally been appointed as DCE.
He suggested that the people should be provided with at least three options so they will determine which of them they would feel comfortable working under.
