Communication Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, has stated that President John Evans Atta Mills, for now, can only sympatise with floods victims across the country while arrangements are made to mitigate the effects of the floods.
The President on Wednesday morning toured some parts of the capital, Accra, to assess the destructive effects of the Tuesday night floods on the lives of people in the city.
He first stopped over at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle where floods had taken over the roads, making them impassable.
Mr Anyidoho told Adom FM’s Adakabre Frimpong Manso in an interview that the president was very much concerned about how residents had been affected by the rains and therefore decided to meet and sympathise with them.
