Suspended PNC General Secretary, Atik Mohammed was on Wednesday denied access into his office by a group said to be acting on the orders of the party's 2016 Presidential Candidate, Dr Edward Mahama.
The group made up of some party executives locked the office and directed the embattled General Secretary to leave the party's premises.
PNC National Vice Chairman, Henry Asante has explained the action was necessitated by the refusal of Mr Mohammed to hand-over properties of the party since he was suspended.

He said the suspended General Secretary was given July 28 deadline to return the party's properties in his possessions but he did not heed to the directive. "The party was left with no option," he said.

PNC Treasurer, Akane Adams also said the party, under the instruction of Dr Mahama, changed the lock and keys to Mr Mohammed's office because of the way he sneaks into the office in the night without notice.

The PNC National Vice Chairman has one of the keys and the rest are with Dr Mahama, the PNC Treasurer has confirmed.
At the party's seven-hour-long meeting which handed the suspension, his accusors pointed to his repeated rants against the PNC's 2016 Presidential Candidate as one of the reasons for the suspension.
But Mr Mohammed has disputed the decision, saying NEC has no authority to suspend him.

PNC National Chairman, Bernard Mornah has also said he will join Mr Mohammed to fight the decision.
Although the lawyers of the suspended General Secretary have written to the party over its decision, some PNC National Executives said they are unfazed by any legal action.
"We took the best decision in the interest of the party," a National Executive who pleaded anonymity told Myjoyonline.com.
