Pressure group, Forum for Governance and Justice is proposing the establishment of an independent body to tour the country to collect evidence of judicial corruption. The group made the proposal after it brought some individuals to a forum in Accra to testify about their alleged experiences with corrupt judges and other officers of the court. Its convener Dr. Clement Apaak is hoping Wednesday’s event will embolden more Ghanaians to come forward with evidence of judicial corruption. He called on the Judicial Council to use its mandate to set up an independent enquiry into the allegations against the judiciary. The Forum for Governance and Justice was originally formed to protest the treatment of four lawyers who alleged corruption in the judiciary.
