A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, says he is convinced Ghanaians will not sit unconcerned and watch President John Evans Atta Mills and his government to cling to power and plunge the country into mayhem.
Like the uprisings that have swept through the Arab world ousting dictatorial governments, John Boadu is convinced that Ghanaians will resist any attempt by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to destroy the nation.
Responding to statements by the Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho - who said the government would deal with the main opposition party and its flagbearer should they try to instigate violence in the 2012 elections - John Boadu said that he did not believe President Atta Mills and his spokesperson were more courageous than dictators like former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and former Ivorian leader Laurent Gbagbo who were forcefully removed from office by their people.
Despite his military might, John continued, Gaddafi was removed from power. According to John Boadu, after 19-years of ruling the nation with a heavy hand, former President Jerry John Rawlings gave up power to ex-President J.A. Kufuor who also handed over in 2008 when his party lost the election.
The NPP Communications Director was speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Friday.
Mr Boadu accused President Mills of inciting tribal warfare through the utterances of his spokesperson who claims he has the full backing of his boss as far as his utterances are concerned.
He doubted if the President and his spokesperson will be able to withstand any outbreak of war in Ghana.
He asked the NDC to stop referring to Nana Akufo-Addo as a desperate man because there is no one in Ghana who is more desperate than President Mills.
