Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, has reproved Samia Yaba Nkrumah over her use of intemperate language while addressing some contentious issues affecting the Convention People’s Party (CPP). The Chairperson of the CPP, on Monday, said she would not tolerate nonsense from the 2008 flag bearer of the party, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, whom she accuses of sowing seeds of discord among party supporters. Dr Nduom, according to her, is behind threats by some supporters who insist on an early congress to elect a flag bearer. Samia minced no words when she told Joy News the party will not tolerate Dr Nduom’s nonsense any longer. But Mr Pratt, who is a member of the CPP but currently fraternizing with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed disappointment at the utterances of leading members of the party, especially that of the chairperson. He called on Samia to cease fire, saying it was shameful for a chairperson of her stature to publicly threaten to dispel others from the party. Her focus and efforts, he said, should be fostering unity among party members and organising a successful congress. The editor also urged Samia Nkrumah to remain neutral in the contest for flagbearership, noting it was incumbent upon the chairperson to support any candidate the party chooses. The CPP risks collapsing if she continues in this manner, Pratt cautioned. He also admonished Dr Nduom to exercises discretion in whatever action he takes in order not to cause uproar within the party.
