An aspiring presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party who has been at the centre of recent vitriolic attacks between members of the party has called for ceasefire.
Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has been accused of gross indiscipline by some members of the National Executives, with the chairman Samia Nkrumah describing his actions “nonsense.”
She said the National Executives would meet to take disciplinary action against Nduom- a possible dismissal from the party could not be ruled out.
Her comments opened up a can of worms within the party with supporters of Nduom hitting back at the party chairman with an equal measure of cynicism, if not worse.
The Youth Organiser of the party Murtala Mohammed said in an interview they will not sit down for a European or Egyptian goddess to take arbitrary decisions against others of high standing within the party.
The Women's Organiser Mary Ankomah Boakye-Boateng also chided the party chairman for her comments and demanded an immediate apology from her.
Richard Keelson, spokesperson of Dr. Nduom has also fired from all angles questioning the propriety of the party chairman to accuse his boss.
Dr. Nduom has since been quiet. On Wednesday however, he broke his loud silence with a call on all well-meaning members of the party to ceasefire.
He told Joy News all who are sympathetic to him must desist from making public utterances that seek to further deepen the wedge between the national executives.
He said he would personally take disciplinary action against persons who are under his influence and who flout his call.
Dr. Nduom also called for all to address whatever grievances out of the public eye.
