Mr. Addae who formed the party after the 2008 General Elections was the only candidate to have filed his papers for the position after the close of nominations.
The Congress supervised by the Electoral Commission lasted for about four hours and also saw the acclamation of national executives. Addressing members of the party, Mr. Addae, popularly known as Odike promised to address unemployment and reduce poverty if elected president.
He called on Ghanaians to reject both the NPP and NDC in next year’s elections if they want to witness improvement in their standard of living.
National chairman of the party Agyenim Boateng called on members of the party to redouble their effort at attracting more people to the party.
He said the party is now focusing attention on fielding parliamentary candidates in all the 230 constituencies for next year’s elections.
