A senior member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. F. A Jantuah, is calling for the expulsion of the 2008 flagbearer of the party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, from the party.
According to Mr. Jantuah, as far as he is concerned, “if Dr. Nduom leaves the CPP it is a good riddance. Dr. Nduom’s presence in the CPP is just worrying. ”
He was of the view that Dr. Nduom is creating more problems for the CPP than solving them and called on the current executives to deal appropriately with the party’s 2008 flagbearer.
Mr. Jantuah’s comments follow rumours that Dr. Ndoum is likely to resign and run as an independent candidate in the 2012 general elections.
Dr. Nduom, who recently said he does not find the CPP as a strong vehicle to help him win presidential power has not himself come out to confirm or deny the reports.
Jantuah, who was a minister in Ghana’s First Republic said on Citi Fm’s Eyewitness News on Monday that “Dr. Nduom does not understand politics”.
“I would wish that Dr. Nduom is sacked from the party, not that he himself would leave. He is going to form a political party, if he does that he would fail.
"I wish that he would form a political party because he would fail, the man doesn’t understand politics, he doesn’t understand anything and he is creating confusion in the CPP,” Jantuah added.
“So I would wish that Dr. Nduom leaves the CPP or he is sacked. This is my position. ”
