The spiritual leader of the Kejebi Shrine in the Tamale Metropolis, Naa Tia Salifu Shiraz, has predicted a one touch victory in this year’s general elections for one of the major political parties in the country. He told Joy News, “I know the victor of the 2012 election.” Though, he did not mention the victor’s name, he went further to say that, the winner will be declared after the first round with over 51%. “The 2012 elections will be a very crucial one where there will be no run off. These elections will be won through a small margin difference, where the winner will get over 51%”. According to the renowned spiritualist, these revelations were made known to him by his gods, saying that, “I have made a lot of consultations with my gods about the 2012 general elections where a lot of things have been revealed to me. Some of the revelations I can make public but some I cannot”. Speaking at a press conference in his shrine, the Kejebi spiritual leader hinted that, 2012 general election is not going to be a joke or a walk-over for any political party. Naa Tia revealed that, the 2012 general elections will be characterized by violence and urged politicians to undertake their campaigns devoid of threats and insults. “As I revealed earlier, there will be one touch victory for one of the major political parties; however, it is not going to be a violent-free election. There will be few pockets of violence notwithstanding, but we can do something to avert it,” he indicated. He said, the gods have requested that, some sacrifices be made to ward-off evil and avert electoral violence in the country, adding that, the simple solution to avoid this ominous electoral violence is divine intervention, prayers and sacrifices to God. “To ensure violence free elections begins with you and I: the chiefs, politicians, religious leaders, the clergy and other stakeholders. Therefore it behooves on all of us to ensure that there is peace during and after the elections,” he warned.
