The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II says he is not afraid of people planning evil against him.
The supreme leader of the great Ashanti Kingdom said he is not worried about such plots because he has great faith in the Almighty God who will rescue him.
He noted that not everybody would love and appreciate him, stressing that such evil plans would not materialize because he has reposed a great deal of trust in the Lord.
The Asantehene was optimistic the Lord will continue to guide and protect him against the evil ones.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu disclosed that God made him the King of the greatest Kingdom in Africa and the third in the world.
He stressed that had God not ordained him as the 19th King of the Ashanti people, her mother would not have nominated him for consideration as the supreme leader of the Ashantis.
In view of this, the Asantehene said he owes God a great deal of appreciation, for what he has done in his life, promising that he will not do anything without the blessing and guidance of the Almighty.
King Solomon, as he is affectionately called, made these observations when the Bantama branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana joined him to worship at the Manhyia Palace Gardens on New Year's Day.
The renowned King promised to rule with fairness and justice to ensure that equitable justice was dispensed to all and sundry for the speedy development of the Kingdom.
He therefore asked for prayers, God's guidance, long live and wisdom so that he could discharge his duties without fear or favour to conform to God's Word.
The Asantehene promised that every New Year he will invite the church to come and worship with him at the palace.
The Asantehene called on all churches in the Kingdom and beyond to remember him in prayers.
In a sermon, Rev Hebert Addo Oppong; the clerk of the General Assembly, who deputized for the moderator of the church, expressed appreciation for the honour done them by Otumfuo.
He noted that the Presbyterian Church was blessed because it was not an easy task to get access to the ancient Manhyia Palace to pay homage to the great King.
Rev Oppong emphasised that Kings and queen mothers would not be successful if they ignore God and therefore charged other traditional rulers to emulate the example of the Asantehene.
The former moderator of the church, Rt Rev Frimpong Manso led a prayer session to commit the Ashanti King into the care of the Lord so that his reign will not only be beneficial to the Kingdom but the country and the world at large.
Series of thanksgiving and gospel songs were poured out ahead of the sermon, which saw the congregation dancing in honour of God for his protection throughout the year.
