The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng has said he is not resigning as CEO of the country’s premier tertiary health facility.
At a packed press conference on Thursday at the Medical School canteen, Korle-bu, the renowned heart surgeon said that he is not resigning as is being speculated, but instead he has completed his term and is simply stepping out of office as the chief administrator of Korle-bu.
The conference was started by the playing of a gospel song 'The storm is over' by T. D. Jakes, a popular African-American gospel singer and preacher.
He told the media that he is going to hand over to the Board of the hospital next week, proceed on leave and then end his tenure as Korle-bu’s administrator.
