At least 100 Ghanaians have downloaded the GhanaPost GPS application, less than 24 hours after it was launched.
Data available on the Android market Thursday revealed the app has had over 400 reviews with mixed results.
“It’s a great system [because] it gets you your address in seconds. Well done team. Now I can fill forms and not worry about the address,” one wrote.
And for Theophilus Atta Bruku, the GhanaPost GPS app is a “great app [that one] just has to get a good internet access [and] all will work well for you.”
But there are challenges that come with the use of the application, some frustrated Ghanaians told Joy News.
“For the past 2 hours, I have not received my SMS code to continue with the process of registration,” one Dennis Brown said.
Another also said “I can’t access it. It keeps giving me ‘error sending request’ although I entered the right phone number. Frustrating.”
CEO of app developer, Vokacom, Nana Osei Afrifa said the issues raised against the application have to do with the input of wrong telephone numbers.

He told Joy News Ghana Post Company, which is the administrator of the GhanaPostGPS app will offer more assistance to those who are unable to use it.
Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post, Kwaku Tabi Amponsah, told Israel Laryea on Joy FM’s Midday News people are "over-excited" about the technology and, therefore, fail to follow the laid down log-on processes.
He said the company has designed a comprehensive campaign programme, which will be rolled out across the country to educate the public about “how the app works” and “how to use it.”
The application was launched on Wednesday by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of the National Digital Property Addressing System expected to address the problem of poor address system in the country.
