All eyes will be on Joy Sports and Adom-TV on Multi-TV later today for two reasons, entirely independent of the fast - approaching Nations Cup tournament: At 2:30pm Manchester United will look to close ranks on league leaders Manchester City with a win over an improved Bolton side. French Ligue 1 action takes centre stage following the EPL game at 7:30pm when second placed Montpellier play 4th placed Lyon. Below is a preview of both games. Manchester United vs. Bolton Wanderers: Preview Some things are a rarity in football and preparing to watch Manchester United at Old Trafford after back-to-back defeats in the Premier League is one of them. No-one would have predicted their last two league results, particularly the home defeat to Blackburn, but it's worth remembering that before those losses they were unbeaten in nine matches, winning eight. For the record, it is more than 10 years since Sir Alex Ferguson's team lost three league games in a row. Even in this season of crazy results that would be some headline. They were second at Christmas - a position from which they have gone on to win eight of their 12 Premier League titles. Having gone the course many times before, experience and nerve could yet play a huge part. Last season's title success was built on incredible home form as they dropped just two points at Old Trafford. Nine have slipped from their grasp already at home in this campaign and that will be a concern, along with recent defensive frailties. They'll be looking for a solid return to winning ways ahead of league trips to Arsenal and Chelsea, in a period where they also face Liverpool at home. Bolton are where they have been since the middle of October- in the relegation zone - but a run of seven points from the last 12 available has kept them in touch with the teams around them. They may think it is a good time to go to Old Trafford to face a team they have beaten just once in the last 18 meetings, but will also be wary of a Manchester United side out to prove a point. The Trotters have already been on the end of a 5-0 reverse to United at the Reebok this season. But at Old Trafford last season they offered sterner resistance, holding out for 88 minutes before Dimitar Berbatov scored a late winner. Montpellier v Lyon: Preview Lyon coach Remi Garde leads his side into today's Ligue 1 top-of-the-table tussle with Montpellier convinced their midweek Coupe de la Ligue victory over Lille can provide a platform for the rest of the season. Garde's team came from behind to win the last-16 tie despite the early sending-off of Mouhamadou Dabo, who is one of a host of players who will miss the trip south to Montpellier with injuries also ruling out Remy Vercoutre, Bafetimbi Gomis and Cris. Garde said: "The (Lille) match can be used to launch our second half of the season. Even when we have difficulties, it shows that with solidarity we can do good things. It is a collective performance.'' Lyon go into this weekend's game fourth in the Ligue 1 table, two points off second-placed Montpellier and five behind leaders Paris St Germain. They were stunned by a 1-0 defeat at Valenciennes in their last game before the winter break. Montpellier's form also dipped alarmingly in December and they are without a Ligue 1 win in three, and must cope without the loss of four players who have headed to the African Nations Cup. However, Montpellier can still bank on striker Olivier Giroud, the current Ligue 1 top scorer with 13 goals this season, and he believes his side can capitalise on the pressure facing the visitors. Giroud said: "Lyon are the favourites so they are the ones who have the most to do. There is more pressure on them and they have a lot of players missing and a number of injury problems.' AC Milan and Inter Milan face-off LIVE on Joy Sports and Adom TV tomorrow night. Coverage begins at 7:15pm.
