The New Patriotic Party is still keeping the name of the Vice Presidential candidate close to its chest despite a high powered National Executive Council meeting, Tuesday.
The flagbearer is reported to have selected Bawumiah, even though sections within the party are making a case for the deputy Minority leader, Ambrose Dery.
Many expected the National Executive Council to announce the chosen candidate but no name has officially come out.
Instead, the NPP council of elders want the rank and file of the party to avoid heaping pressure on Nana Akufo Addo to select their choice.
The communication director Nana Akomea told Joy News it is not yet time to make the name public.
The flagbearer Nana Akuf- Addo will not officially comment on the outcome of the meeting, saying, it is too early for him to make a statement on it.
Former chairman of the party Haruna Esseku, former President Kufuor and his vice Alhaji Aliu Mahama were among the high profile personalities in the party who attended Tuesday’s meeting.
Mr. Kufuor and Alhaji Aliu Mahama told News they will respect and uphold any choice Nana Addo makes to partner him.
