Labour expert Austin Gamey is advising government to involve the national tripartite committee in handling workers agitations over the recent fuel price hikes.
Government is meeting the Trades Union Congress (TUC) following threats of a nationwide strike if fuel subsidies are not restored.
Some labour groups are accusing government of violating laid down procedures in attempts to pre-empt the strike.
The Labour expert, who supports this position, told Joynews: “I think there are properly laid down structures which can be followed to resolve matters between organized labour and employers and governments through the tripartite system. I think for consistency and orderliness it will be appropriate the government finds a way of getting the national tripartite committee…to be in control…”
Mr. Gamey is, however, asking workers to exercise restraint as attempts are made addresses their grievances.
