About 11 sitting MPs of the ruling NDC have lost their bids to contest again on the ticket of the party in Saturday’s parliamentary primaries.
The casualties include: MP for Lower Manya Krobo, Michael Teye Nyaunu; Charles Hodogbe who lost to deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa and MP for Keta, Larsey Agbenyefia who lost to propaganda secretary, Richard Quashigah.
Also on the list of losers are Deputy Majority Chief Whip, George Kuntu Blankson and Minister of State in the Office of the President, Stephen Amanor Quao.
Meanwhile, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa was joined by his colleagues in government to celebrate his win. He told Joy News Sammy Darko hard work won the day.
For Majority Leader in Parliament Cletus Avoka, he said his good works has paid off.
According to Youth and Sports Minister, Kofi Humado his appointment as a Minister did the trick.
Speaking to Joy News’ Mahama Shaibu after he was declared winner for the Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Abukari Sumani, said he will focus on uniting members of the party in the constituency.
MP and candidate-elect for Asawase, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak says it has been a very difficult election.
However, Captain G. K Mfordjour lost his bid to represent the Ho Central constituency. He is not taking the loss kindly at all, as he accused the chief of the area for his defeat.
