The Police Administration says it will introduce reforms in police training institutions in the country as a long-term measure to deal with the reported incidents of brutalities meted out to civilians. The reforms will give special attention to training in human rights issues and what the service calls ethical policing. The acting Director of Police Public Relations, DSP Kwesi Ofori says the administration is concerned about the several reports of police brutalities and will pursue these reforms to address the issue. In the interim though, DSP Ofori has told Joy News Elvis Kwashie that commanders have been charged to monitor the activities of their men and also educate them on their duties especially on the provisions of the law that allow for minimum use of force in their dealings with civilians.
