Two children of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Francis Nkrumah and his sister Samia Nkrumah, will join President Mills in the unveiling of a statue of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah at the forecourt of the newly constructed AU building in Ethiopia.
The statue is in honour of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s leading role in the African liberation struggle as well as the Pan Africanist Movement
The two will be travelling on Friday January 27, 2012 with President John Evans Atta to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 18TH Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Governments of the African Union.
President Atta Mills is expected to deliver the keynote address on the theme “Boosting Intra-African Trade”.
President Atta Mills and his delegation are expected back home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
