Despite the risk involved in stowing away on ships, it appears some people in Ghana are prepared to defy the odds to embark on such journeys.
Stowaways hide themselves in cargoes on ships for days. Some of them suffocate to death while those arrested are sometimes killed.
But Joy News investigations indicated a good number of Ghanaians are still embarking on the death-defying journey in the hopes of finding a fleece of Gold in Europe.
For our weekly documentary series Hotline Western Regional correspondent Kweku Owusu Peprah reports many inhabitants of Ghana’s oil city of Takoradi are still in the business of stowaway.
