Goran Stevanovic has lauded his players for the way they bounced back from a slow first half to complete a win over Mali.
Ghana beat their Group D opponents 2-0 on Saturday in the 2012 African Cup of Nations to stay top of the standings with six points, three clear off Mali and Guinea.
Stevanovic, who had spoken of his belief in his players after the opening 1-0 victory against debutants Botswana told reporters that the Black Stars have enough experience to deal with the pressures of tough games.
“They have experience enough and know-how to play this game. It was nervous. No one wanted to lose this game," Stevanovic said.
Ghana's slow start changed after the hour mark when Asamoah Gyan curled in a freekick from 30 metres before setting up Andre Ayew to fire in a low shot to the near post, all within 13 minutes.
“In halftime, I just changed some tactical mistakes and some details. Some details sometimes decide the game and really, I am happy and want to congratulate my players for a fantastic performance and effort.”
“Before the game, there was a little bit pressure and we needed this victory to take another confidence because this team is really good and did a very good job,” the Ghana coach said.
Ghana plays Guinea in the final group fixture on Wednesday.
