Asamoah Gyan will be back for Ghana as early as June for the two 2014 World Cup qualifiers, GFA vice president Jordan Anagbla has told KickOffGhana.
Gyan announced his retirement from international football last Saturday and has explained that he needs a break because psychologically he is down.
But the GFA vice President says he has personally spoken to Gyan and that the striker will be available for Ghana's next competitive game which could be for the 2012 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in June this year.
"I have spoken to Gyan myself and he has promised to be available for the next competitive game that Ghana will play in the World Cup qualifiers and also for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifiers in September," Anagbla says.
Gyan will definitely miss the international friendly against Chile next week.
If a June return is confirmed, the player's retirement could prove one of the shortest in Ghana football history.
