Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has stated that he feels that his side will win the Primera Division title this season, and only an unbelievable Barcelona run of form can prevent them from success.
The Santiago Bernabeu outfit are top of La Liga by ten points currently with 13 games remaining with the capital side won the bulk of their matches this term.
With the current champions showing inconsistency at times over the last nine months, Mourinho feels that his men are in a great position to win the league.
"I'd like to think we'll win the league," the former Inter trainer stated in a press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to face Real Betis.
"If we don't it will be because Barcelona had a spectacular run in the last stretch and that we weren't able to keep up the good work and to have the same ambition.
"The championship is still open and there are many points at stake, but we believe we can stay this strong. I'm not saying we will win all of our games because we're sure to draw and lose some, but we want to reach the end of the campaign in a strong position," he stated.
Los Blancos have the chance to open up a 13-point lead on Saturday, before Barcelona play Racing Santander on Sunday.
