The Ghana Football Association is committed to ensuring safety at all match centres as swift action is taken on the acts of violence that marred the weekend's matches in the Glo Premier League.
President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi has condemned the violence in Cape Coast and Accra where referees, team officials, journalists and security personnel were attacked.
He, however, confirmed that the institution has put measures in place to fight the negative acts.
"We want to issue our strongest disapproval and condemnation of the various acts of violence that occurred in Accra and Cape Coast over the weekend," Nyantakyi told GHANA FOOTBALL, the official newspaper of the GFA.
"At a time that we are trying to bring the standard of the game up we are gravely concerned that some supporters will resort to violence in our stadia.
"The GFA's Disciplinary Committee has received reports on all the incidents at all the matches and we want swift action from the Disciplinary Committee for the appropriate sanctions to be meted out to those found guilty.
"We want to introduce some new measures to take security to a new level and ensure that these ugly incidents don't happen again. Security officers in civilian attire, the military will be deployed in some sensitive matches as well as more cameras will be sent to some of these matches."
Nyantakyi queried the turn to violence to address concerns even though the GFA has mechanisms to deal with all complaints.
"For the first time in his country stiff punishments have been meted out to referees with severe bans on them for bad officiating.
"If a supporter or team official feels aggrieved over an issue there is the channel for the issue to be looked at and if possible the right sanctions are applied.
"So it is wrong for an any supporter or club official to attack a referee or an opponent in a match in this country. We will not tolerate this," he said.
