A former board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Fawaz Zowk, says new Coach C.K. Akunnor has what it takes to succeed but also needs to assume full control of the club’s technical department.
Akunnor was appointed as head coach last week to replace dismissed Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic and faces a daunting task to revive their league title winning campaign. Hearts are now fourth on the league table and 10 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
According to Fawaz Zouk, CK Akunnor should not tolerate any interference from the management and the board but rather stamp his authority in managing the club.
“I personally think he has some good players in the team and will definitely succeed but He has to be his own man at Hearts. Management, board and supporters will come with their advice but he should not allow interference since he will be hold accountable to the successes and failures of the club”.” he told Joy Sports.
Akunnor, also a former Coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise, made a false start in his first league match by losing 1-0 to Liberty Professionals last Sunday.
