The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports has called on the national women's soccer team, the Black Queens to emulate the credible and inspiring performance displayed by the Black Stars and Starlets in Germany 2006 and Korea 2007 to make their mark.
The Queens will open their campaign in the 2007 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Women World Cup in China, with a game against Australia today, Wednesday, September 12, 2007.
A solidarity message issued and signed by Hon. Professor Dominic Fobih said, "on the occasion of your third appearance in and participation in the World Cup, the whole nation solidly stands behind you to achieve success.
"We believe in your capability to come out victorious in your preliminary matches and subsequent stages of the competition."
The message added that, "The President, First Lady, the government and the people of Ghana salute you, our gallant Black Queens and wish you the best in the tournament".
