A member of the Council of State and a business mogul is commending the president John Mills for not making his vice, John Dramani Mahama a spare tire.
According to Alhaji Asuma Banda, the Vice President John Mahama is one of the most visible and hard working vice presidents across the world largely because of role assigned to him by the president.
He said the president by his conduct has demonstrated he is not a selfish leader.
The business mogul made the comments during the commissioning of some 100 buses for the Metro Mass Transport organization.
He said countries all over the world have limited the roles of their vice presidents, reducing them as mere spare tires but that is not the case in Ghana.
"He is the only visible man. Not even in the United States anybody here can tell me how many times they have seen the vice president on the radio or in any function. So i always take the vice president as a spare tire but our own vice president is not a spare tire.
"That goes to say the kind of president we have in Ghana. He is not a selfish president.
"He has made our vice president to become very visible. He does all the work because he does it very well and the president has given him the opportunity to do it," he said.
