Four of the ten prisoners who escaped after their fence wall was demolished by a private developer have been arrested.
Ivy Frances Anning, the developer who has been fighting the Prisons Service for a parcel of land at James camp Prison near the Borstal Institute in Accra since 2007, hired a contractor to break the fence wall this morning.
An officer at the Prisons Service Legal Department, Supt. Kwesi Adjei told Joy News they were taken by surprise because the developer did not serve them notice.
He is optimistic the six prisoners on the run will soon be arrested.
Supt. Kwesi Adjei also told Joy News the contractor and his workers who were engaged for the demolition exercise have been arrested by the Cantonments Police.
