Chiefs and people Denkyira-Kyekyewere in the Central Region are setting up a fund to address development challenges in the area.
Initiatives include a proposed bridge over River Offin which girls are barred by custom from crossing by canoe to go to school on Tuesdays.
Krontinhene, Nana Agyekum Ntiamoah, says potential external support will supplement a combined effort of natives at home and abroad.

Bad roads, poor health, and sanitation, as well as education facilities, are among other concerns of the people.
The only health center in the community has no ambulance, which means emergency cases will have to be in a commercial vehicle and cover a long distance to Dunkwa to the nearest hospital.
For a start, authorities are levying residents 10 cedis and 20 cedis for non-residents of Denkyira Kyekyewere in support of the development fund.
Nana Ntiamoah says they have had to take the initiative because the government, over the years, has neglected them.
The community development fund will form a basis for accelerated infrastructural development and enhanced local standard of living.
“We have plans to build a palace in this community. The development fund can be used to assist that as well”, he said.
