The Northern region Police are investigating the murder of a 35-year old Fireman at Bruto, near Damongo.
The body of the officer was found in a bush near his farm with multiple gunshot wounds.
Northern region Police PRO, ASP Mohammed Yusif Tanko told Joy News the late Cosmos Mahama Illiasu was transferred from Damongo to Sawla.
But his family is still based in Damongo.
According to him, the fire officer visited his family and decided to go and see his farm Saturday morning.
But by evening Saturday he had not returned, prompting the family to lodge a complaint with the Damongo police.
A search party found his body in the bush with gunshot wounds.
The police are investigating the motive for the killing the possible perpetrators of the crime.
