Former President Jerry John Rawlings has congratulated Isaac Dogboe for winning the WBO super bantamweight title over the weekend.
Dogboe has become Ghana's youngest ever boxing champion after knocking out Jessie Magdaleno in Philadelphia on Sunday morning to make him the new WBO super bantamweight/junior featherweight titleholder.
In a fight that sashayed, both boxers were unafraid of giving punches. The Ghanaian won by TKO in eleven rounds.
In a tweet to congratulate the "Royal Storm" the former President said: "Congrats champion Isaac Dogboe. Hard work and perseverance leads to success. You've made Ghana proud. You have to sustain that hunger in order to emulate the greatest, Azumah Nelson!"

Dogboe, 23, beat Magdeleno although he was knocked down in the first round after walking into a well-timed left hook.
But he recovered well, and his heart, honed from 11 straight victories, shone through.
