Coalition of Domestic Election Observers is warning undue delay of exhibition of biometric calendar could cause the election calendar.
According to the EC, some five thousand people have been found to have engaged in multiple registrations so far with more of such cases yet to be identified.
The adjudicating Committee of the EC is expected to submit its findings to the police for prosecution.
But CODEO’s National Coordinator, John Larvie is worried at the snail pace of collating the biometric register.
“I am a bit worried about the pace of thing. These 5000 people we have been told some numbers and adjudication committee was working on this. That was since the end of registration. The thing is that it is taking them too long,” he lamented.
He said the procedures that have to be followed including the exhibition of the voter’s register might delay events even further and prayed the EC will be a bit more expeditious in their work.
