Accra-based Zaytuna F/C regained their premiership status when they defeated Tema Seven United 1-0 in their Division One League (DOL) Sub-Middle League match played at the Legon Park on Saturday.
It was Zaytuna who indicated their preparedness of carrying the day when their attackers went all out to mesmerise the defence of their opponents in the first 10 minutes but failed to find the net.
Seven United gradually warmed into the game some minutes later but their strikers fumbled in front of goal to end the first half goalless.
Zaytuna resumed the second half full of fight and managed to score the only goal of the match in the 80th minute via a penalty, which was converted by Sam Kennedy.
Seven United launched a last minute attack but the defenders of Zaytuna pivoted around keeper Muntari Tagoe, Joseph Mensah and Opoku Anokye managed to hold them in check.
With the win, Zaytuna who were demoted from the premiership in 2004 have thus topped the four-club league with seven points having after drawing with Kade Hotspurs and pipping Kpone Fair Point in earlier encounters.
