The highly anticipated Tigo Tema Golf Open has finally started at the Tema Golf Club, as it enters it decade of unparalleled success since Tigo got onboard in 1992. A statement from Tigo said both the professional and amateur tournaments, took off on 28th August, 2012 at the Tema Golf Club, and would end on 2nd September, 2012. The professional event of 72 Holes ends today, Friday 31st August, 2012, whiles the amateur event ends Sunday, 2nd September, 2012. “Players who are 18 years and below and handicapped, qualify to play in the main event but will play off 14 holes while handicapped golfers who are between the ages of 19 to 28 years will have an 18-hole play in the Special Group,” the statement said. It said all competitors are to report to the official starter not later than 5 minutes before the starting time, adding that in the event of a player reporting later than the stipulated time but within 5 minutes of his starting time and ready to play, the player shall incur a penalty of 2 strokes. “A competitor shall incur outright disqualification if his or her group has completed Hole 1 by the time he/she reports,” the statement said.
