A New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist at Mim in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr. Joseph Lammon has entreated residents of Zongo communities to vote massively for the party to clinch victory in the December elections.
He urged them to rally behind the NPP to return to power and to change the erroneous impression created by political opponents that the NPP was anti-Zongo and anti-Muslims.
Mr. Lammon, leader of Mim Northern Group, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Mim in the Asunafo North, said every Zongo person, was a born NPP.
The Mim Northern Group is a political organisation consisting of NPP members and supporters from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions but residents of the town.
He explained the NPP was the only political party that had been consistent in selecting Muslims as running mates since the advent of the fourth republic.
He therefore appealed to supporters, especially the youth in their communities to work harder to deepen the level of trust in the party in the Zongo communities.
Mr. Lammon said people believed in personal touch; hence the leadership of the party should prioritize the concerns of the Zongo communities and assist in addressing them.
He expressed optimism that as a national party, a government of NPP would consider the welfare of every Ghanaian and every community as important and deal with them appropriately.
Mr. Lamon bemoaned, “Ghanaians are sick and tired of the sugar and milk politics that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been demonstrating. Ghanaians are now interested in development and not mere political propaganda as we hear daily on the air-waves and also read in the newspapers”.
