A Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not deserve another term in office considering what he says is an abysmal performance in government.Kwesi Amakye Boateng maintained that Ghana under the NDC is at a “standstill” therefore its continues stay in power could spell doom for the country. He was commenting on the chances of the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur ticket ahead of the December 7 general election. The ruling party on Tuesday outdoored vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as running mate to President John Mahama after he was unanimously endorsed by the National Executive Council (NEC).Amissah-Arthur’s nomination is to consolidate the NDC’s crusade for re-election in December. But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Amakye Boateng said he will be extremely surprised if the NDC wins the December polls.According to him, a vote for the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur ticket will be an endorsement of corruption in the country.Amakye Boateng explained that, President Mahama by his loud silence on the controversial Woyomegate scandal and other dubious judgement debts paid to undeserving people by “corrupt government officials” is an attestation that he [Mahama] is not committed to fighting corruption in the country. He opined that the presidency seem to have been compromised given what he says is the continued stay in office of government appointees implicated in the dubious judgement debt payments.Kwesi Amakye Boateng urged Ghanaians to vote against the NDC since according to him, an NDC government presiding over corruption must not be allowed to manage the state coffers. In a quick rebuttal, Deputy Information Minister, James Agyenim-Boateng questioned the independence of political science lecturer, Kwasi Amakye Boateng - accusing him of being bias.He alleged that Amakye Boateng is a full blooded member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) hence lacks the ability to do an independent analysis on political issues.Agyenim-Boateng challenged Kwesi Amakye to come clean on his political status and stop doing the bidding of the NPP under the guise of the political science lecturer.
