Parliament was once again forced to suspend sitting as a result of the inability of the house to raise the required number to form a quorum.
Member of parliament for Atwima-Nponua, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, evoked order 48 of the standing orders of parliament and called for adjournment of sitting.
Member of parliament for Tarkwah-Nsuaem in the Western region, Mrs. Gifty Eugenia Kusi seconded the motion.
The first deputy speaker, Doe Adjaho called for the adjournment of proceedings ten minutes after order 48 was evoked as required by the standing orders.
Only thirty nine members reported to the chambers today.
Meanwhile, parliamentary press corps coordinator, Nana Yaw Asare Mensah died after a short illness on 6:45 pm Tuesday at Mercy Clinic in Mataheko, Accra.
He was reported to have died of cholera but efforts are being made to ascertain the real cause of death as there are suspicion of negligence on the part of staff on duty at the clinic where he passed on.
This brings to a total number of five members of the parliamentary press corps that lost their lives between January to September this year.
He was 44 years old. May his soul rest in peace.
