President John Mahama has called on members of the NDC to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting in the December polls. Some disgruntled party supporters in recent times have punished their parties by adopting the ‘skirt and blouse’ phenomenon –they split the votes by casting for their presidential candidate and the parliamentary candidate of an opposing party or vice versa.Addressing NDC supporters at the start of his Greater Accra Regional campaign, President Mahama urged the voters to ensure they vote for him as well as NDC parliamentary candidates to ensure smooth running of government business. He explained the executive president can only function properly if he has the majority in Parliament. The president took his campaign to Osu, Adabraka and Asylum Down.He also asked the people of Osu to return the NDC to power as the past three years is indicative of what the party could do if given another chance.Joy News presidential correspondent, Seth Kwame Boateng said the president visited market women near the Odaw river in Adabraka, promising he will put in place a proper drainage system to ensure the flooding situation is a thing of the past.
