Morale in the camp of the Black Meteors has been boosted by the expected arrival tonight of all seven foreign-based players invited for Sunday's Olympic football qualifier against South Africa at the EI-Wak Stadium in Accra.
The Meteors on Thursday play Gamba All Blacks in the last of their preparatory games for Sunday's match and will have the luxury of fielding strikers Prince Tagoe, Nafiu Iddrisu and Asamoah Gyan, midfielder Michael Helegbe, as well as defender Isaac Vorsah alongside their home-based counterparts.
Midfielders Bernard Kumordzi and Anthony Annan are expected in town this evening to complete Coach Jones Attuquayefio's arsenal of the foreign legion for the penultimate qualifying date with the Amaglug-glug.
Meteors Team Manager, Sabahn Quaye maintains that the atmosphere in camp is one of high expectations.
"This afternoon's game will be a prelude to what to expect on Sunday as morale has shot up to the highest," Quaye said in an interview with the Graphic.
The Meteors beat premiership new entrants, Kessben FC, 2-1 last Sunday, but succumbed 0-1 to Liberty Professionals on Tuesday.
The Meteors are seeking a second victory over their out-of-contention South African counterparts to cushion them ahead of their final game with Nigeria.
