The main Madina market near the Madina District Police command is on fire.
Joy News’ Dela Aglanu who is at the scene reports that the fire is burning from within the market and personnel from the Ghana Fire Service are finding it very difficult to get access into the market to put out the fire.
He said hundreds of residents and shop owners have gathered at the scene looking on and wailing helplessly.
According to him, the fire was intense and spreading at an incredible pace.
The fire service have called for a back-up to fight the raging fire.
So far, a total of three fire tenders have made their way to the scene as they desperately try to put out the fire.
Exactly a week a ago, a similar raging fire consumed the Mallam market where properties worth millions of Ghana cedis went up in flames.
